Our Team
Here is a list of the people on our leadership. Some more information will follow in the coming weeks:
Priest-in-Charge - The Revd Tim Horlock
Parish Administration/Vicar's Secretary -
Barbara Blackwell
I have been the Parish Administrator/Secretary to the Vicar for the past ten years and have been worshipping at St Peter’s for about 20 years now! I am married to Pete who heads up the Video Projection Team. We have two children Anne and Michael. Anne is a Youth Pastor and Michael is a Trainee Cardiac Physiologist. We are blessed with one (very beautiful) granddaughter Imogen.
Churchwardens
Rob Henry & Maurice Gordon
Children's Pastor - Phil Gibb
I’ve lived in Stevenage all my life and have worshipped at St Peter’s since I attended Sunday School in 1977. I’ve been employed as the Children’s Pastor (working with children from 3 to 11) since 2006 and have a Diploma in ‘Children’s Evangelism & Nurture’ through Cliff College in Derbyshire.
I also help with the youth work at St Peter’s and am also employed as a Project Manager for Cornerstone InterChurch Youth (working with young people from 11+) developing projects relating to football, drug/alcohol awareness and networking with other youth leaders.
My passion is for all young people to know the love of Jesus and to see them grow in their faith.
Youth Pastor - Anne Spiller
Anne qualified as a Professional Youthworker in 2005 through the Centre for Youth Ministry at Ridely Hall in Cambridge. She is married to the lovely Graham and they have a daughter called Imogen who is nearly 2.
Pastor to the Elderly
Richard Brooks
I am a lay reader at St Peters and also Pastor for the elderly, I trained with St John Collage Nottingham for four years to achieve a Certificate in Christian Studies and a further eighteen months with St Albans Diocese to achieve my Lay Readership. My role within St Peters is to minister to the elderly of the Church and the Parish of Broadwater Stevenage, especially to those who live alone or in sheltered accommodation.
Families Pastor - Tracy Loosley
I live in Broadwater and have two children aged 18 and 21. I started worshipping at St Peter’s 7 years ago. I walked in broken and in a desperate place but I met with Jesus that first day and my life has been completely changed. I received love, acceptance and healing and since then I have wanted to see others walk in their freedom in Christ. I am employed by St Peter’s and oversee all the under 3’s work and support for families as well as doing Baptism preparations and assisting the Church wardens among other duties.
Prayer & Prayer Counselling - Philippa Wheeler
Philippa has spent all her working life as nurse working in Hospice Care up until 2008. She is now working 3 days a week at "The Living Room" an addiction treatment centre in Stevenage, where she offers the clients pastoral support and prayer counselling. She also overseas the many different expressions of St. Peter's prayer life.
Philippa is married to Dave with 1 daughter, and is never happier than walking out in the countryside getting close to God's marvellous creation.
PCC Lay-Chair - Ivan Wilmore
