CURRENT NOTICES

This is a list of all of St. Peter's current notices.

Revision of Electoral Roll

Each year, we are required to revise the Electoral Roll (list of Church members). The revision will happen between Sunday 21 and Sunday 28 March 2010. Having your name entered on the Electoral Roll enables you to:

·     Be a voting member of the Church of England, attend the Annual Parochial Church Meeting and to take part in the proceedings this year at 7.45 pm Monday 26 April 2010.

·    To stand for election to the Parochial Church Council or be a parish representative on the Deanery Synod.

To clear up any “folklore” concerning the Electoral Roll, here are two facts:

· you do not have to have your name on the Roll to be entitled to a funeral at St Peter’s (anybody in Broadwater is entitled).
· nor does your name have to be on the Roll to be married. (However, if you live outside the Parish of Broadwater other criteria have to be applied).
Any person is entitled to have their name entered on the roll, if they:
· Are baptized and aged 16 and over. Those who are 16 during the next 12 months may complete the form, and become eligible to be entered on the roll on their sixteenth birthday.

· Have completed and signed an Application for Enrolment on the Church Electoral Roll.

· Are members of the Church of England or of any Church in communion with the Church of England, being resident in the parish or (not being resident in the parish) have habitually attended public worship in the parish during the six months prior to the application for enrolment (since 21 September 2009) .

· Are members in good standing of a Church (not in communion with the Church of England) which subscribes to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity declaring themselves to be also members of the Church of England and having habitually attended public worship in the parish during the period of six months prior to enrolment.

For  For more information please speak to Nichola Brichieri-Colombi, the Electoral Roll Officer or contact Barbara Blackwell in the Church Office 01438 236464.

Promise to Vote

Most of us would agree that we want a stronger and better country that reflects Christian values. While it is good to pray it will also be good to send a clear message to Parliament that we will vote and that the Christian voice must be heard and honoured. Please will you take time to support the campaign initiated by Premier Christian Radio, by signing the form that can be found on the notice board, promising that you will vote in the upcoming General Election.
For more details, please speak to Philippa Wheeler.
